Good info on the phenols and other health benefits of coffee, good coffee names to look for, and a few good coffee preparation tips. However, this is really more of a book on coffee than a "diet" book per se. Most of the dietary info is old-school "American Heart Association (AHA)" type of stuff: "fat is bad for your heart, watch your cholesterol, and eat plenty of whole grains because our body needs them." There is also not even so much as a mention of Bullet-Proof type coffee with grass fed butter/ghee and MCT oil added (as above, this goes against standard AHA party line so he leaves it out). The coffee piece of the book is great, but the dietary piece is pretty weak. Take a look around you next time you are in a gathering of people (mall, airport, etc): does it look like the "stanard advice" of avoiding fats, watching your cholesterol, and eating whole grains is working? Virtually every person you see today is on the spectrum of being simply out of shape to extreme obesity. A better book to read on the dietary part is Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. Coffee + good fat + MCT = good but breads/grains/sugary carbs = bad. We as a society will continue to get fatter and fatter until we realize it is largely breads, processed stuff, so-called low fat stuff, etc that is the problem.

Love this book! As a coffee lover, I read all I can on this subject. This book did not disappoint! A treasure trove of important information and so much more. A fun, interesting, definitely non-boring read. Highly recommended, if like me, you're cuckoo for coffee.

Being a coffee lover (20 cups a day) this book is filled with valuable information if you are a coffee lover. It has info regarding grinding coffee for better taste and making it. Also has a lot of info about various coffee in the world and has excellent recipies for dieting.

It was a very enjoyable book to read. I learned a lot about coffee and how to get the very best nutritional value out of various kinds of coffee and ways to make it. I ordered one of the recommended coffees and it was so smooth and quite enjoyable.Thanks for a great read!

Excellent book, lots of great & useful info, pretty much everything you wanted to know about coffee. But some advice...avoid his line of coffee, Dr. Danger...way overpriced & the quality does not live up to what you'd expect from the writings in his book.

Great book learned a ton about coffee and quality products, have ordered and tried Ethiopian and Tanzanian coffees, also got a great bean grinder.Also got an Arzum Mirra Greek/Turkish teapot - can't wait to try it this weekend.BTW - I also have tried some of the recipe's and smothies - down 10 lbs in 3 weeks. The Supersmoothie is great and I do it at least 3 times a week! :)

Most importantly he has used his great skills as scientist, athlete and reporter to analyze scientifically the best kind of coffee to drink and the best way to brew it for maximum performance.
