The "20 questions" he purports to answer are for the most part nothing that would be raised in any serious debate on the subject by any believer. There might be 3 valid questions here, and then he doesn't really answer them fully. It would appear he has not debated too many educated believers. Based on this book, Dinesh D'Souza would have a field day with this guy in a debate and I challenge him to do so on youtube. His attempts to make the Bible and Quran interchangeable flawed documents fails miserably, no evidence. He should fire his editor and find someone more skilled, errors abound and they are the usual wrong word for the intended meaning errors that spell checkers can't identify. For example: "persecuted for murder" instead of "prosecuted for murder" and "stealed his resolve" instead of "steeled his resolve". "Stealed" is not a valid word in the English language, yet it appears in this book.If you want to really understand the atheist argument I would suggest Sam Harris. His books are at least written in proper English and he at least attempts to make points that are logical and not random for no reason.Edit: 12/27/16Here are some of the non-serious questions this author seeks to debate that no educated believer will ever raise:-"God's existence is proven by scripture", since we know atheists reject scripture, nobody debates this point with them, strawman.-"God answers prayers therefore He must be real", nobody debates the subjective with atheists either, strawman.-"I feel a personal relationship with God, so I know He must be real", really? again nobody debates the subjective, strawman.-"It's safer to believe in God than be wrong and go to hell", yep, another one no educated believer debates, strawman.-"My religion/God has helped me so much, how could it not be real?", really? another subjective no one debates, strawman.-"God is love, God is energy", huh? what? yes, another strawman nobody debates.-"You'll become a believer when you are desperate for God's help", really? again nobody debates these things, strawman.I can go on with a few more whoppers, but there's no point. There's very little here in either stating the points commonly debated or giving answers to them, epic fail, not sure how/why this was ever published.

Simple, straightforward book with arguments I've already heard dozens of times. Good starting point for folks " on the fence". I browsed the 1 star reviews for this book and couldn't hold my laughter. Some of the low-balling reviewers and commenters seem to think that if you don't believe in Christianity, you're being rebellious. Hilarious. When I was a child, my parents introduced me to Christianity and the usual " Sunday school " nonsense while also providing me with all the science and nature books I wanted. Religion wasn't forced on me and I was free to come to my own conclusions. There was nothing to rebel against. Even at an early age, I found Christianity to be fundamentally unsound and just plain silly. Noah's ark, the flood myth, talking snakes and donkeys, Jonah and the whale, and a dead guy that rises from the dead and ascends into the heavens. C'mon, most any kid that's allowed to come to his/her own conclusions is likely to see it for what it truely is : absurd. The Jesus character in the Judeo-Christian bible had some good things to say, but hey, so have many other men & women throughout history. I gave my children the same options I had. Thankfully, they chose reason. Gosh, I don't know how we manage to do it, but we're thoughtful, moral people who do good without a god, go figure. I could go on and on, but I'll keep it simple. I'd rather have unanswered questions, than answers that can't be questioned. No need to ask who created the god of Christianity, I already know : bronze-age men who needed a simple way to explain everything they didn't understand. God did it 'nuff said. I'm content to simply wonder about things. My life is full of meaning and purpose without any god(s). I'm alright with being an insignificant dot in a big ole universe. The book says just about everything else I have in mind. Read it. Think about it. Pass it on.

I grew up with a strong sense of the existence of the Christian God and I became a devout evangelical Christian. In my early 20's I decided to become a minister of religion with the Baptist Church. I completed 5 years of theological training and I served as a minister for some 17 years. The majority of my time was spent working as both a hospital chaplain and as a clinical counsellor ( for which I received qualifications). My doubts took root in the suffering and traumas of life I witnessed, tried to address, and in my own psychological dysfunctions. I left the ministry in 1987, but it took me another 9 years before i rejected all my religious beliefs and the existence of 'God'.I have a constant interested in reading and learning about the big questions of life - of science, philosophy and belief systems. I am sickened by violence and sexism evident across the world today and often encouraged by religious fanatics. I regret that it took me so many years to embrace atheism.I have found so much help and support in Armin Navabi's book, "Why There Is No God". His explanations have reinforced my own convictions and given me some new insights to apply to my own life. I have especially appreciated the links to books, articles and internet web pages that are found in the pages of this book. "Why There Is No God" has launched me into new territory to explore.
