I wish I had this book 14 years ago when I first started using blood letting with my patients. The treatments were effective but the tools like the dull Chinese three edged bleeding needles I started out with were terrible. They have been have been replaced by sharper hypodermic needles and the various lancets which I tried before have been mostly replaced by larger 17 gage McKessen lancets which I learned about on the Facebook group hosted by Dean Mouscher. Improvements in my tools have made it quick and easy to do wet cupping on the upper back and to do a much better job of bleeding in other areas. There are 3 acupuncturists working in our clinic and we have gone crazy with everything we have learned from Dean’s Facebook group. Even better is the changes which we have seen in our most difficult patients when we use these techniques.And now we have Dean’s new book. This clinical guide contains everything which I have slowly and painfully (for my patients) learned over the years and much more. Everything one needs to know about blood letting is laid out clearly and concisely: how to treat specific conditions, the proper procedures for specific areas of the body, where to get supplies, how to dispose of waste, the conditions which respond the best to blood letting, and even how to talk about this difficult subject with your patients. I read this book pre-publication and have been impatiently waiting for it ever since. Even though I have used blood-letting for three decades, I learned so much from this book. It discusses every practical detail step by step, covering different bleeding methods, the best equipment to have, how to know when it will work or when it is not the best therapy, hand technique, and which areas to select for different problems. Dean Mouscher includes many cases and his personal experience. His successes are inspiring. His failures save me from making the same mistakes. There are plenty of photos to help us with diagnosis. This book is perfect for the beginner and loaded with insights, even for an old hand.

Every acupuncturist needs this book. It is a very practical nuts and bolts guide to exactly how to treat your patients with bloodletting. Most books are very theoretical, and you are left wondering exactly how to do it. my 8 yr old is in 2nd grade- she is good in math and I'm hoping she will test into accelerated math. That would mean she needs to know all of 3rd grade math already before she starts 3rd grade. Hence this workbook. There is Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions. Then there is money/time, geometry, graphs, and the last section is word problems.To give you an idea: for the "addition" chapter, there are a couple pages of 2 digit addition problems, couple pages of 3 digit, 1 page of 4 digit addition, addition squares, and then the answer key. This is the basic format for each section. I could see this as being a good review book for the summer between 2nd/3rd grade. Or I guess between 3rd/4th grade depending on the school curriculum... my daughter is learning addition/subtraction/basic fractions/money/time and basic graphs in 2nd grade. But not multiplication, division or geometry.

I like the set-up. Each page is denoted to a specific task versus other workbooks that jump around more. Great for summer practice!

Christmas gift for struggling math student

This is a very comprehensive review for summer, or to keep your 3rd grader on track. The sheets are well thought out and make excellent progression from page to page. One of the very good things about this book, vs other books we have purchased is that it leaves room for the children to do the work for the problems. No extra sheets needed or writing in the margins, there is ample space to take the time to work problems out properly. Too often workbooks have many problems squished together, overwhelming the student and creating an unkept work space, Not very conducive to learning. This is essential for helping learn concepts and move forward through the curriculum. We used this as a summer review and my daughter is doing very well this school year. I think that keeping the concepts fresh was imperative to keeping her moving along! Great value, great product!

The workbook has nice clear, easy to read print. It is well-organized and covers basic numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, money and time, geometry, graphs, and into to algebra. The answer keys are at the end of each chapter, and in some chapters, the key starts on the back of the last worksheet in the chapter. For that reason, I wish all the answer keys were at the end of the book. I would have also liked to have seen the pages perforated, so worksheets could have been torn out of the book and given to the child individually. Those two reasons are why I rated it 4 starts.

I got this book to sample for free , this is a very helpful book to revise all the basics before hitting the 4th grade or this can be used as a practice once each topic is undersood. The math problems are very well organized. My kid likes that the problems start easy and then turns challenging. A good book covers all the 3rd grade basics.

Great Math workbook, comprehensive, has 10 chapers for learning all needed skills like addition,subtraction,multiplication, geometry and money and time. Also a lot of fun graphs.Highly recommended

This product is very clear cut and very popular with the intended audience. It can not only be successfully utilized for 3rd graders, but it is also a very good tool for 2nd graders who perform at a higher lever as well. I would definitely recommend this product for use!

Just to be brutally honest, this book is highly recommended for anyone that is fan of classic Disney shorts. The author provides an fascinating and interesting history on the 26 original Disney created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit shorts both the surviving shorts and the 7 still missing ones. The book devotes 4-5 pages on every single short. On the surviving shorts it goes into detail on plot line each short, and then takes some time in discussing original reviews and related productions notes. As well as discussion how that particular cartoon survived and if they have any missing sequences and what i could gather from the book that 8 of the surviving short have some footage missing. Finally it does also discus how these films were assembled on the Walt Disney Treasuries DVDs On the still missing shorts it does give fascinating information on what the plot of each cartoon was, with supplimantary production notes and surviving material related to each cartoon is production.Only thing I did have wanted to know little bit more about but the book doesn't seems to devot any pages to the resently discovered High Up, with was once thought to be WInkler/Mintz Oswald the Lucky Rabbit short. But resent rediscovery seems to confirm according to mr Borsset himself in interviews regarding the book that seems to be have been made by Disney instead of Mintz, but the book itself goes in no further detail on this particular short, so maybe they didn't have any further informaation on this particular short other than a film print of short itself so maybe they didn't think it was worth the inclusion in the book at this time. Licking some important details regarding its production.

Ever since Disney purchased the rights to Oswald, there has been great effort in tracking down the films (and other silent films) that are still considered lost.This book by Dave Bossert tells the story of Oswald, how Disney re-aquired him, and the current effort to located and preserve the films. It's also a guide to each film. For films that are missing, studio synopsises and other material are reproduced to give a solid idea of what the film was about and the action that took place. This section is exceptionally detailed. Bossert also explains how and where the films are found and acquired by the studio and preserved using modern technology. There's also a list, not only of films that are still missing, but also extant films that are incomplete; Material that researchers are still in search of.More lost films continue to be located every so often. Bossert even states that this writing may date quickly as more films are discovered. All the primary sources contained herein will still be valuable reference material though.This is an excellent documentation on Disney's silent period and film preservation.

A well written book with a great deal of information of how Oswald was born and then changed hands after one release season. Very informative and a must own for anyone interested in golden age theatrical animation. The myth that Oswald was "stolen" is clarified in that he belonged to Universal Pictures all the time; the real skullduggery was Mintz' successful effort to headhunt Disney's animators and create his own studio to produced the cartoons, rather than be just a middleman. Poetic justice that it didn't work out for him. One hopes that in years to come an updated edition is released with more on the "lost" Disney titles that are found, as well as more info on the 1928-29 release season. Films from this period are equally rare....

As a Disney fan I have always loved the story of Oswald and how he was lost all those years ago only to be found and reclaimed by Disney as he should have been. I also own the Disney Classics Oswald DVD that was released some years back. It is really fun to see the seeds of ideas and gags that show up even in today's Disney movies that were first formed in the Oswald cartoons. This book is a great companion to the cartoons and a plea to everyone who reads it to provide information for those Oswald cartoons that are still missing and waiting to be found with help from the public. It is also a great story about events that forever changed the way Walt Disney conducted his business and controlled his intellectual properties.

There's frustratingly little information available on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's Disney years. Some of this is because such information has been lost to history, and some of it is because Oswald only occupied a very short period of Disney's illustrious career. Dave Bossert's book does an excellent job of gathering all the information available on Oswald and compiling it into one authoritative and beautifully illustrated book. I particularly enjoyed previously unseen scripts and story boards for lost shorts such as "The Banker's Daughter" and "Sagebrush Sadie."Bossert's book is clearly a labor of love, and he should be thoroughly commended for his hard work in finding Oswald's lost shorts after Disney reacquired the rights to this irascible, loveable character.

I wanted to have the honor of being the first person to review this amazing book. I hadn't purchased the previous edition but I saw that it received tons of good reviews on Amazon and this one came out like a day or two before I decided to buy it so I knew that the content would be up to date, which is always important when it comes to programming and web technology books; the landscape is constantly changing.I purchased the ebook version for $50.57 and I can say it was worth every sent and more! I purchased this title because I needed to learn more about MySQL so that I can build a web application that relies heavily on querying MySQL databases through PHP. I'm already several chapters in and I've learned far more in just a couple of days of reading and trying the examples in this book than I have from months of reading several other books and watching online tutorial videos which only skim the surface of what MySQL can do.This book teaches in a fun way with numerous helpful examples. I never thought that a MySQL book could be a page turner but it is; it's thrilling to read and I will treasure this book for many years to come, as I'm sure I'll need to go back to it whenever I'm stuck on a database issue. Please do yourself a favor and buy this book!!!

Have not had time to read the whole book, but from everything I have read, I really like it. This book can help beginners to experts alike. Examples from Perl, PHP and Ruby, which if you like learning different languages, this part is great. Has lots of example queries and seems to keep security in mind. For example, there is a whole section on retrieving data and securely displaying it the user. Over 800+ pages will keep you busy for a while, and covers most everything MySQL. Good job Paul DuBois.

God book, lots of value for the money

Handy reference for MySQL statements and a basic solutions. Kind of a quick at-a-glance book to give you examples on how to approach common problems. Useful for beginners and intermediates.

The cookbook has a lot of examples that stretch across the normal use of MySQL and is written in a structured manner. It may take a while to increase in complexity, but builds a good base.

I have to agree with Darkside that this book has some really cool stuff in here. And plan on covering every page of it. And will update this soon.F.Y.I. If you get a book with the Purple cover (not Red) on it, it is the 2014 book. And not the cheaper 30.00+ book. Yes, I freaked a little ....Ok alot. and made sure that it was the new and updated edition, and it is. And of course it arrived on-time and perfect condition, as promisedIf anything Amazon change the color of the book's picture to reflect the Purple cover. I said some pretty nasty things about you guys ......I am sorry ...hope that you can forgive me ? :)
